Farooq was called to the Sindh Bar Council in August 1991 and had been in private practice throughout his law career in Karachi, Pakistan. Farooq is a licensed Advocate to practice law in Karachi, Pakistan. He offered his services to individuals, families, and national and multinational companies in labor laws, real estate, business laws and family law matters.
​Farooq attended the University of Western Ontario and achieved a Certificate of Qualification from The National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. He completed the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED) from Winnipeg, Manitoba and articled with a Refugee, Immigration and Human Rights lawyer in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Real Estate, Corporate & Commercial Lawyer in Mississauga, Ontario. After the call to the Bar in Ontario in January 2020, he established his own practice in Milton, Ontario, and later, Welland, Ontario. Farooq is a certified family mediator and is in the process of achieving accreditation in Family Mediation, and provides ancillary services in Criminal Law.
